Head and Tail

Julie has a big tail, but not THAT big a tail!   A little bit of forced perspective for fun.

Just to be fair I got a close picture of his face.  The little camera can get close too, but you have to start out a lot closer.

While Julie hogs the bed, poor Calpurnia has to huddle just below him under the table without any place to sleep….if you don’t count the carpets, either cat tree and their six platforms, the sofa, a chair, or anyplace upstairs.

Was Julie all tail as a kitten too? Our tux cat was as much tail than body at some points in his youth.

well, as a teeny kitten he had a stubby tail, but as he grew past that the tail grew with it. I don’t recall him being out of proportion. On the other hand you could say he’s all tail now!

I just looked through the old pictures and it is hard to see any change in proportions. It is hard to see much change in him from when he was 8 months to now. A little more “mane” perhaps than early. In the header trio of shots the one with him face on in the grass is from when he was 8 months old – he looks very much like the other two where he is 9 or so. Cats normally go stubby – gangly – stocky, but Julie just stayed a bit gangly for good. I suppose Calla probably never got gangly in her youth.

Calla would never do something as undignified as getting gangly.

I guess Julie decided early on who he was.

Tux grew into his tail, but there was about a month in his super-gangly period where he was very out of proportion. At 6, he’s firmly stocky now.

Julie “decided early on who he was” …

If you remember he header “Wild Child” with the three pictures of Julius, the one on the right is from 2003 when he was about 8 months old.

  2. Gotta love floofy tails, forced perspective or not, that is not a whip thin tail! Love his sweet face, squinty boy!
Poor Calla! She looks like the proverbial poor kid with her face on the candy store window! Does it do her any good, or does he stay in his spot once he’s in it? MOL

  3. Amazing tail never seen one like it xxx
