I think this has come up a few times in the past, but for those that have missed it, Julie and Gus have a strange kind of relationship. From time to time Gus decides to groom Julius. It always starts out well with some cleaning between the ears, but then it soon degenerates with Gus biting at Julius’s neck.
Since Julius is a young strong fellow, he’s able to beat up Gus. Since he’s a respectful guy, though, Julie usually just lets him bite and stares at me with mute appeal until I break it up.
Today, Gus actually made his special sound and Julie came from across the room and sat down for a bath….
Things started out fine and dandy….
But like usual, after a few minutes of attention, Gus started to get that look in his eye. His attention started to wander and that neck was just asking for a good bite. Well half a good bite since Gus doesn’t have that many teeth left these days.
But today, Gus mastered temptation and just walked off for some water. No fight, no unhappiness.
Such a good boy.
I can just picture the look of appeal on Julius’s face when Gus starts biting. Great that he finally learnt some restraint today,

Aw, who says you can’t teach an old cat new tricks? Wait, no one says that! Good kitty Gus! You need an extra treat or scritch!
Julie, you’re such a sweetie for putting up with it, extra scritches and treats for you too!
Yay for no fight. We try to bite each other but only get a mouth full of floof.
