Evening Outing

With Daylight Savings, there’s still some light out and the weather is good enough for some time outside.  In between hustling Calla back from romps to the neighbors’ front door I found Julie in one of his several watch points in the front yard.  This one is at the base of the largest tree in the front, on a little hill with a grass lawn.  He can watch up the whole street and see what’s going on.

I think here someone was parked a the common mailbox getting their mail.  Julie has his mane poofed out a little and his neck stretched out to see over the bushes.

Well, Gus didn’t have a great time at the vets but it was quick.  Hopefully the test results will confirm his infection is gone, his activity sure seems to say so.  He did get sick in the car on the way back home in the carrier.

But by evening he was recovered enough to do his promenade up and down the front walkway.

Even Calla joined the gang.  When she first came out she was sweeping her tail about in grand sweeps like a feather boa.  She then trotted off to poke about the neighbor’s front door.  I’m not sure what the fascination is there.

All my kits are indoor so when I see the beautiful pix you have of your babies outdoors I realize I need to grow a tree on my deck. ;) I have a big planter…maybe I can plant a small cedar in it for them. They are allowed on the deck (which is too high to jump from) & they do love watching the birds coming to the feeders, but we need greenery. =D

That’s a good idea – they do like to smell and stand in and around bushes and little trees. I imagine the smell and sound helps, and something to hide under and behind makes them feel a little more in control too.

Very nice, I’ll be glad when we start to get some warmth and green around here .
My two cats love running around in the high grass and through my flower beds, :-)

I wonder if cats get car-sick? Maybe that’s why they hate travelling so much.
Calla is such a princess, floofing her tail about like that.

  5. Nothing gets by Julie does it! He’s got the full alert going on!
Fingers crossed for Gus’ results. Poor sweetie, throwing up on the way home, that’s not fun.
Calla on her visiting is so cute! I wonder what the neighbors think, or if they know! Silly girl.

A genetics question. Is the classic tabby pattern like Julie dominant or recessive?
