Mr. Julius is all Politeness

Julius was a very proper gentlecat yesterday when sharing the straw plaything with Calpurnia. When she was playing with her end he sat very properly watching her and waiting his turn.  Here he is a little distracted by a noise next door, but since cats have such good peripheral vision they don’t need to look at things directly to keep track in any event.

This shot of when Gus came over to touch noses before moving past towards the bushes behind us also shows the straw that Julie and Calpurnia were sharing.  It is the pale yellow line extending from near Julie’s front feet.

Gus didn’t try to touch noses with Calla.  That’s probably a good thing, since a good proportion of the time he does it with Julie he ends up chomping on him, and Calla won’t take that lying down.

    What a good gentlecat boy.
A single stalk of straw? That’s their toy? It’s amazing the things cats will find entertaining.
Calla is just SO pretty. I know I keep saying that.

I buy them little mice, kicker toys, sponge and sparkle balls and they sit collecting dust. Twigs and straw is always a hit, and Calla also loves the camera wrist strap.
