Days of Stress

This hasn’t been the easiest week for the cats.  All of their patterns have been upset since I have been getting my furnace checked.  I’ve been home at the wrong hours, there’s been visitors and banging about.  They find a spot to hide in and then we come in there and they explode out and run into another room.

At least today they all tucked themselves under the bed pretty early on to wait it out.

Tomorrow when they take the old one out and put the new one in it will be longer and worst of all.  But it will be over soon enough, and they recover pretty quickly.

It was pretty amusing turning the thermostat up to 92 to get the heater to cut in for the checkout.  It’s been pretty warm these last two days around here, although it cools off in the evenings enough to be tolerable.  The house is perched on a ridge that gets the last breeze from the ocean, so there’s usually a light breeze even on the hottest days.

The open door lets in the cool, with a little assist by a fan.  The cats know all the good spots to catch the air.

What gorgeous photos! I love Calla’s blue eyes, Julius’ golden nose, and Gus’ big floofy belly.

At least today I was able to get them all in a room with some food, a fountain and a sandbox and the bed to hide under rather than have them scamper into hiding places on their own.

I had the roof replaced a couple of weeks ago, and even though that didn’t mean anyone coming in the house, it was still a lot of upheaval and noise for them (Me, too — I wore earplugs part of the time). I think tuxie spent most of his time under the couch, and then he’d gallop for under the bed.

I love Gus. He’s like a fur pompom. But I give Julie points for taking absolute basic catness and doing it up with style. Cal doesn’t need any more compliments.

Julius is a cat of action – even if you catch him resting it’s still not his best ‘side’. When he’s on the job he’s like a pocket tiger.

Gus will have to get his hair cut soon – then he will look like a big grey sausage aside from his head feet and tail.
