The Many Faces of Calla

Well, I’m having a little trouble coming up with my usual semi-coherent story line for a post so here’s some Calpurnia.  I just read a post recently on ScroobiousPip about an article claiming that it is hard to read an expression in a cat due to a lack of eyebrows…

So here’s some pictures of Calla being unable to get her emotions across.

While she may be feeling a completely different emotion, the lack of eyebrows apparently makes it incomprehensible.

If only there was some way to tell what she’s thinking!

    She is so cute!

  2. I’m still having a hard time with the realization that I don’t have eyebrows… But I think Calpurnia’s emotions are pretty clear. Photo 1 – Annoyed (but adorable). Photo 2 – Exasperated (still adorable). Photo 3 – Surprised by human stupidity (also adorable).

  3. I would attribute the lack of eyebrows comment to George Carlin – he did a great standup routine about cats and that was part of it. Early 80’s I think?

  4. She looks like she’s thinking “I vant to be alone” And “stop with that flashy thing already”
But she’s beautiful no matter what she’s thinking!

Extraordinary thought. Let me ponder it. Eyebrows. Who knew. At your most incoherent, OldCat, you cohere anyway. An example to us all.

  6. We like keeping Mom Paula guessing about what we are thinking about!
