Does this basket make me look fat?
It isn’t often that she’s relaxed enough to show her tummy like this. She has a pretty straight stripe of white there across the bottom. She tends to keep her feet down even when resting.
More pictures from the wiggle worm session. Unlike Calla, when Julie gets flat he is really flat.
Gus has been very good recently about not staring and following Calla around. He even used a platform about six inches from where she was resting without looking at her for long enough to make her worried. A result of this is that she spends more time down with us and less upstairs on her own.
He hasn’t been perfect, but sometimes she’s overreacting herself. And later I catch each of them sneaking sniffs of the other when they are busy eating or getting a drink, so nobody is too upset about how things are going now.
Basket make her look fat?? Never! Makes her look utterly appealing! Oh my gosh on that belly! I’d have a hard time stopping myself from doing a nose dive for a major snoorgle!
Love the flat cat and how it looks like he’s using his claws to keep himself down on the floor!
Good boy, Gus, you’re learning your manners!

I’m not sure that belly shot is legal in all states.
That may be the lushest kitty I have ever seen.
Can you resist patting it – or does that automatically result in pointy bits appearing?

Calpurnia never uses her pointy bits, she’s a sweet little thing ordinarily. There was one exception I can remember – when I had had her just a few days and took her to a groomer and she was getting a flea bath – I was helping hold her and during the rinse she did nip my hand once, not hard.
Aside from that even when I have been bad – she’s swatted me with a soft paw a time or two – she has contented herself with wiggling away and running off.

I love her white belly! She looks so cute and cuddly. I’m glad she’s more social now. Feline dynamics are so fascinating. I wonder what makes all the Miao Brothers like to snuggle with each other so much but your kitties prefer their separate nap-spots.

Well just yesterday, Gus was tenderly licking Julie on the head for a few minutes…until he changed to biting him on the shoulder. So that’s probably a big part of it. Julie himself doesn’t seem to be that interested in other cats, to the point of forgetting where they are and offending them by barging into their space every so often. Calla is an independent sort too. They are pretty far apart in age, so none were together when they both active kittens. And it tends to be warm here rather than cold, which leads cats to spread out rather than huddle up.

Oh I would love to rub Calla’s gorgeous tummy! Gus looks so regal doesn’t he?
