Saturday Cartoons

I went back to the Zazzle Cat Cartoon page the other day so that the other two cats would not feel left out without their own avatar.  Julie’s came out pretty well.  I gave him the fangy mouth in honor of his occasional biteyness, especially with lizards.  It was pretty cool that they had the ‘classic tabby’ pattern for me to use.

Calpurnia was a bit harder, because you have to use the ‘shading’ options to get the points even close to right.  I still would like them darker, and the background color a tad less yellow and more creme.

But it was great that I could get the white spotting almost exactly right with the limited options that they have.

Not a bad likeness, but there’s nothing like the real McCoy.

  1. We like their avatars! You did a really nice job.

So cute! The white spotting doesn’t match either of my cats, but I keep adjusting the parameters and am getting closer.

I’d like to see how close you get!

I can’t find a half black/half white nose for my tuxie, which is his most distinctive feature. And trying to get a tortie with calico bits is really tough, although they have the best basic tortie pattern I’ve seen.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well I could fit Calla and Gus’ blazes in with the pretty limited control set, but that part has to be approximate. Calico and Cow kitties might be hard to get exactly right..

I think I saw something that implied you could have a custom job done for you by the company artist!

  3. Wow, those are great!
But you’re right, nothing beats the real ones!

So true, about the real thing. The soft eyes . . . .

Excellent and adorable likenesses! I love the bitey Julius and frowny Calpurnia. I need to get my act together and cartoonify my Miaos!
