How can such a thing happen to me!

It all started when Calla was minding her own business in the back yard on the rocks…

…sniffing at the leaves and nibbling on a few.

So she sits down on a rock to chill out when Julie comes sailing over the back wall into the yard to see what’s up.  I gave him a few pats and scritches and everything was going well.

Then a bird flew over the yard very low and Julie was off tracking it.  He was in full hunter mode, having already brought home a little lizard already today.  The angle took him right next to Calla, within a few inches, and he stayed there, tracking the bird and looking up at it.

Finally Calla had had enough of his gall at standing so close and she hissed and swatted at him.  Not a good move – he gave more than as good as he got, and with his longer legs and faster reactions soon put her to flight behind a little shrub.

Is he gone yet?  Is he still mad?

Julie wasn’t mad, really.  He just is stands up for himself more when he’s outside.

I must admit that I have found it’s best not to start some things. Sometimes things we can start, we can’t finish. purrs

She is so cute, I’m dying.

  3. Well, you can understand her not wanting him to bask too closely in her reflected beauty, she’s a star in her own right, she doesnt need costars! MOL But I’m glad he stands up for himself. I wish Leo would, then things might be a little different around here.
