Sunshine Day

The title is appropriate in more ways than one.  First, I was recently awarded a Sunshine Award by Savannah of “Savannah’s Paw Tracks”.  Thank you very much for the honor!  I’m glad you enjoy the Blog.

To match up with the flower and the sunshine I thought I’d put up this picture from 2010 of Calla out in the yard enjoying a flower and the sun both, if from a distance!

The award asks some questions….

Favorite number: Three!
Favorite Non-alcoholic drink: Water, with milk for treats.
Facebook or Twitter: Neither, really.
My Passion: Julie has a hunting passion.
Favorite pattern: Gus’ lick then attack on Julius.
Favorite Day of the Week: Caturday.
Favorite Flower: Calla Lilies.

It was a very nice day out and I took the chance to go and do gardening.  Since my gardening is more of a negative than a nurturing thing.  I hoped that some wandering vines were part of a particularly sad-looking Mandevilla plant, but they were some rogue plant that had to go.

I also hacked out about two-thirds of the crabgrass that had taken hold over the winter, including the two that Julius was hiding in the other day.  They may make a little comeback, but if I keep cutting them off short they won’t live out the summer.

Aside from Julie, the cats tend to give me a wide berth when I am trimming the weeds and bushes in the yard.  They prefer the quieter times for hanging out in the yard and finding out what has changed since the last time.
