I suppose it started with this lovely lady cat. In a post from last year I renamed her ‘Aurelia‘…which is the name of Julius Caesar’s mother. This is my Julius Caesar’s mother, taken a few day or weeks before I adopted him. There really is quite a family resemblance in the body type and how she carries herself, that overrides the difference in the hair length and the dilute color.
She belonged to a co-worker and he was trying to give away kittens. I had had enough problems adopting one from the Petsmart stores in the area and eventually would again. He gave me these pictures on disk to show me the kittens before I went out to meet them.
The fur patterns are also very close if not identical, Julius is the one on the left.
It had been months since Cassie died, and I was ready enough for another tabby cat, so I looked at the pictures and was most interested in this kitten, although the word was that it was a girl cat. I was actually leaning that way, since my first three cats were all female.
I hadn’t chosen for sure, and I was ready for one of the others to make a greater impression if they could. The chances were a little greater when I got there and found out that Julius was a male.
(not my legs)
I’m pretty sure this is Julie on the left again.
Friday will be the ten-year anniversary of his ‘Got ya’ Day.
