These are more from yesterday. I don’t think Julie is watching the Santa Monica Mountains when he looks out over the wall, or even the highway, but you can see them.
The honeysuckle is doing that annoying ‘sticks with leaves’ thing that a lot of my yard plants do. I’m not sure if it is better to cut them short or not. If I don’t, they seem to get even more sticklike with time. When I cut off the leaves, things tend to die.
Gus sits on the rocks. The stuff behind him is Korean Grass, which has taken hold to the left and is creeping slowly outward. With the cutting down of the trees over the wall the Survivor palm tree is growing faster, and tends to put out a big frond to block the path every so often. There’s one behind Gus on the patio.
I forget what the purple flower is to the other side, but there might be the identifier tag still in the dirt under it. Most of the other plants from the last planting were annuals or have died out, but this thing is doing OK.
When there’s a little nip in the air, as the sun goes down, Julie tends to fluff out his coat and look rounder. But cool or warm, duty calls him to the wall most evenings.
I just love your cat pictures! Ellie
