Happy Trails

I’m a bit worn out tonight because of this week’s hike.  I finally drove to one of the local trailheads to shave off the 1-2 miles of walking to get there (and double that to get back).  So I got to some new trails even deeper into the open space areas nearby.  Sadly I forgot the sunblock.  8 miles later and I got a tad burnt on the back of my knees especially.

This trail passed between my valley and Simi Valley and back over a few times along the ridge lines, then circling back.  Many of the trails were nice and wide for bikes and horses, others were narrower and one connector trail was pretty rough and rocky, if shorter than the main trail would have been.  One problem with driving is that I have to make the path loop back to the car every time.

Gus doesn’t even bother to do that….

  2. The hike (and sunburn) don’t sound so appealing *L* but the pictures of the kids each doing their own thing is super cute!!

I’m used to burning. When I lived in Chicago once in early spring there was a company golf outing on an overcast day. I got a sunburn.

After the burn there’s a little tan left behind which is the only way I tan.

The back of the leg sunburns are the worst. Or at least up there. It’s not like you can quit sitting down or bending your knees to walk.
