See Through Ears

The interesting thing about Gus’ pattern is how it lays over the features of his body without noticing them.  Look at the curve of the border of the white and black (try and ignore the grey grizzle hairs) and see how smooth it is.  There are parts of the pattern on his legs that are the same way, smoothly moving from one leg to the other and back.

Julie stands at attention for inspection…

The interesting part of this picture is that Calla’s ears are transparent, like she is being beamed up to the mothership.

Calla’s only friend is this plant.  Ok, this plant, and these rocks.  Well, this plant, these rocks and this plastic edging….

Gus does have some interesting markings. The shapes disguise his nose really well! Calla doesn’t look too impressed about being beamed up to the mother ship. Pity those on the mother ship who get in her way!

  3. Aw, poor emo Calla, her only friends are inanimate! And she sits on them..
I love Gus’ fur pattern, especially his nose. I had no idea kitties went grey muzzle.. Is that really from age or has he always had that?

Yes, the grey hairs are from age.

Click on the Flickr widget, there are pictures of Gus from 2003 or so. No white aside from a few stray ones at the tip of the blaze on the nose where it peters out.

Pretty kitties as usual! I like how gus’ eyes are so orangish and deep.
