Calla’s favorite spot in the back yard this year is this little zone. She can ride the brick border behind her, rub on the stucco to the right, sit in this spot of dirt. If I come out she will sit on the main rocks, but this spot to the side means she doesn’t conflict with Julie if he is out there or with Gus, whose spots are on the main path or on the other side.
Julie is being a bit rude here, invading her space with the tip of his tail. She’s keeping an eye on the situation as it develops.
This corner will catch the evening sea breezes and help cool her down. The edging is good for resting on or rubbing the cheek against.
It may not be high like the wall Julius likes to sit on, but this border gives a little elevation, and the leaves are good to bite a little.
The bricks are perfect for posing. In her first year here, she used the edging on the other side, but that side has become overgrown and Gus favors that side these days.
