Nothing Exciting

The cats spent some time outside but I didn’t take any pictures.  So I took some inside.  This half of the room works like a light box in a studio.  He’s even doing that over-the-shoulder look!

While Rhea just snoozes.

I bought a new toy – it is a mechanical bug that vibrates to run…the kittens are interested, but so far too wary of it to play with it.

Davout does not approve of scary fake bugs.

Rhea deserves a profile shot too.

  3. Aww, great pictures of the sweeties! Looks like Rhea likes the feathery/furry end of that bug anyway, maybe?
Look how little her nose is in that profile! Did you say they were part persian?

    • Oldcat says:

Yes, the Napoleon breed has part Persian roots. The breeders wanted to make even the ‘non standard” long legged cats like mine are to be distinctive rather than just another cat. They don’t have quite the stocky body and large feet of Persians, and the fur is less fluffed out by a thick undercoat so they aren’t as subject to matting. They also have longer tails rather than short tails like Persians. But the face and expression are much like the ‘doll faced’ Persians of a few decades ago rather than the Peke faced Persians that are popular with the breeders now.

  4. They are both so incredibly lovely! (*pity Davout is too young fur me!*) *(pout)*

Every one of today’s photos are wonderful portraits of you kittens! Is it just me, or are Davout’s eyes getting more blue?

    • Oldcat says:

I think the eyes are the same. There is a desk lamp at that table that has a bluish florescent light that I can move to front-light him directly in the face but isn’t so bright he squints. A bit of de-bluing of the photo before uploading and you get a little extra blue and a lot brighter eyes overall.

Both kittens are adorable, but Davout’s eyes and lovely coloring really make me wish I could cuddle him. Not that I wouldn’t also happily cuddle Rhea given the chance, mind you.

  7. Loved all your cat pictures,Davout makes me think of my cat “nicky”
They sure are a joy to have around,it’s so much fun playing with his
    fish on a stick toy.
