Lizard Hunting Before a Fall

More pictures from the big session.   For some reason this apex of the brick border is a favorite spot for all cats to sit facing in.  This also shows the splashes of color down Rhea’s back like little leaves of different colors.

And just a bit later Davout sat in the same spot.  He’s not as wildly varying from this angle.

Right around this point there was a rustle and the two kittens were on the alert.  I managed to spot a relatively large lizard hiding very high up on the wall under the star jasmine.  If it stayed still, they probably wouldn’t find it.

Even when they get as close and high as they can possibly manage.

Don’t worry, they weren’t all back shots!  Here’s some face shots.

Just a few minutes ago stupid Julius decided to walk the upstairs bannister and managed to fall all the way down to the floor.  Then I had to chase him around to see if he had any injury.   He seems fine, but a bit chagrined at falling like a dummy.

Who doesn’t want another kitten puddle shot?

I was pretty sure he was ok as he trotted ahead of me chasing him, but I did manage to grab him eventually and makes sure his feet weren’t damaged or anything.

Ouch Julie! Hurts just reading about it. I’m so glad he’s OK. And — puddles! More puddles! Your kitties are so wonderful.

  3. Rhea has such a beautiful coat pattern. I especially love the shot of them in the bush together after the lizard it is really cute seeing their fluffy tails. Kitten puddle is always a classic!

One of the things I loved about my cats in Florida was that after years of being left with only the lizard’s tail in their mouth, they never lost that completely dumbfounded look of, “What just happened here?” Your cats are truly beautiful. I enjoy your blog.

  5. They have absolutely beautiful coloring and the garden colors are perfect for showing them off.

Oh, so precious! The lizards do seem to get bigger and fatter every year.
