Rhea Has an Owie

Rhea was perched on this table peering at me tonight so I got out the camera.  That instant she got something in one eye and was soon pawing at it.

I managed to get hold of her and clean around her eye and remove anything that might have poked at it.  Either her tries or mine did the trick and she was soon perky again.

She made some snatches at the camera strap when I tried for a close up.

I took a hike this afternoon that went a bit off.  It was supposed to be fairly short as I had a late start – about 3 pm.  Well at the farthest point I had a problem picking up the trail about three times which added miles and climbs.  After it all, I figured that it would have been a lot better if I had gone around the loop the other direction…which turns out to be what the instructions said to do.

So with the temperature my shirts were very wet – part sweat, part condensation from the water pack.  Then with the walk going late toward sundown, the temperature here drops like a stone come evening, so it was cold and clammy riding home.  I tossed them right down on the floor and wondered if the cats would notice it.   Davout did for a while.

About a minute after hanging in the basket. Davout started to come over to poke at her through the holes in the side.
