Leveling Up

Not the best picture, because she stopped making crazy eyes at me and turned to the toy.  It does show the white surface on the bottom of all the platforms thought.

I managed to corral Davout and put him up top for treats.  He has been hanging out on the base level on his own.  I put a bunch of treats out on the platforms to make him have a good association with climbing.

Rhea looking up.  They both like playing with this burlap ribbon from the gift basket if I drape it on the tree.

I’ve been trying to show Davout’s habit of cupping a paw under his mouth when eating treats but it is hard to get a good picture of it.  After eating his share, he was content to stay there and lick his lips.

Too much hair in the mouth!

I’ve noticed that the pictures on the top of the tree look all futuristic and arty because of the stark whiteness and shapes…like a 1950s vision of the future.

Suddenly there was an interloper!

I was trying to adjust that ribbon around this time when Rhea got a finger with a claw or tooth or both and made a nice wound.

She was really annoying to Davout…reaching up to poke at his face, or turning around and swatting at his tail hanging over the edge.

He did get some licks in of his own and eventually drove her away so he could get down.

Being an annoying little sister can take all the energy out of one.

Ahhh, cute fluffiness!! There must be a physics equation to describe the curve of Davout’s whiskers. Great pics.

Sometimes the easiest way to get a photo of that cute little behavior that defies prediction or a viewable photo is to make a video, then do a screen print of the action you want. The quality isn’t as good as a photo always, but it can be frustrating to miss getting a photo of that cute behavior for any reason.

That said, then there still is getting a video of that cute behavior. Oh well, I can tell from the consistent quality of your photos that you will catch Davout one of these days cupping his paw in that cute little way he does! I look forward to it. It does sound really cute!

    The tummy!

We had an epic tussle here last night on the cat tree, ending in someone plummeting to the ground. Well, if four feet is a plummet. Kitty treats had to be supplied in the other room.
