Catch Up

After a few days of mixing, I gave everyone a bit of a rest from that and we can catch up on other things.

Harrison has been doing OK.  With the cooler weather he has spent more time in the warmer upstairs.  He’s often sleeping on the bed when I get home.  I started feeding him up there at nights a few days back when I was staying up there too.  Downstairs when he’s eating he has to sit alone in the kitchen, and its nicer to have him nearer in the bedroom.

Aside from the responses to the invasion, the medicine is having good effects on Anna.  She even has been walking to the door gate and looking out.  So far she still tends to hiss at any kitten out there, but it is nice that she is showing interest at the outside rather than fear.

We had a nice playtime with the blue toy after that.  The action shots weren’t that successful.

She paid attention to the toy for a good long time before starting to be distracted by kittens outside the door….

She does have a nice look when she’s so attentive.

That’s encouraging news about Anna! It will be great when she is fully integrated into the “pride”!

    What’s Anna taking?

Keep Mr. Harrison warm on these chilly nights! I want to give him a heated cat bed so he doesn’t have to use any calories.

Huh. Actually, its Fluoxedine, which is the Prozac that Gus took when he was nuts over Feliway. I thought the vet said she wanted to try something else first. Maybe I talked her out of it. This is in some liquid suspension rather than the pills Gus had.

Both Anna and Rhea are taking it, actually.

My high-strung kitty is taking that, and it’s made all the difference in the world. He’s much calmer and hasn’t stressed himself into physical problems that require overnight vet visits.

I’ve signed up for mail order refills at about a dollar a day for, I guess, the rest of his life. So worth it.

It sure seemed to help Gus with his Feliway issues so that he didn’t maim anyone, like me, say, when it ran out. And in his case I was able to stop giving him any after a while.

  3. Anna sure is a fluffy beauty! Glad the meds are helping her!
I keep expecting Harrison’s fur to fluff out, especially with cooler weather. I guess he’s just not going to be a fluffy guy, huh?
