How We Play

Davout is patient, waiting for playtime to come around.

His usual method is the distant staredown, followed by the quick trap and hold.

If he gets too excited, he needs to take a break and burn off the energy by scratching.

I remember Julie was big on this.  When I came home he would meet me at the door, then instantly turn and run for the scratch post and dig it for a few minutes.

The other tradition is that Rhea comes down from wherever she is to watch, or even join in. Since Davout is a real gentleman, he hangs back and gives her his turn after that.
