Open Doors

Today was the first time in a long time that it hasn’t been bad weather or I was sick or both.  I walked to the store and decided to let the cats peek out the front door.

It was warm and sunny if a bit blustery, and it has been months since even the big cats were out even a little.  The wee ones were a bit hesitant at first, but Rhea broke the ice.

There’s a table outside on the right which Sherman felt was a nice place to be outside, but a bit enclosed and watch.   The wind picked up too which was disconcerting.  Of course, I was content not to have all of them scatter in different directions.

Davout has missed being out the most and went out a bit farther – but not far.

The wind and my herding got Davout to go back.  Rhea was a little harder to get started back.

I opened up the window with a good screen after we all went in to get some outside air which was popular.

Grant got up into this window too.  Then a siren on the interstate behind spooked them a little bit and they left the window be.

Sherman is the first cat to use the breakfast bar behind the sink.

Full house on the cat tree.  Grant is down on the floor tucked in behind the chair and scratch post.

What a sweet day for the kitties! I didn’t realize the kittens hadn’t been out yet, but I am sure they will compete with Rhea to be most adventuresome kitty when they get a chance to go out for an extended time again!

  2. They are so cute when they’re being cautious! I’m surprised their first outing wasn’t in the enclosed back yard! Very relieving that they didn’t all go in different directions!
Sherman on the breakfast bar with a towel for a pillow; Too Cute!!
Love the full tree, ripe for the petting! hee hee Although it doesn’t look like Rhea is thrilled to be sharing the top spot!

Nice you could get in some outdoor time. I love that your “welcome mat” appears to be home plate !

Many years ago when I moved into an apartment someone had left it on the back porch, and when I finally got an unshared front door I used it there ever since then.
