Little Charmers

Sherman continues to want to come into Anna’s room, and I put her down next to him when I can.  Yesterday she pointedly turned around from him on the back of the sofa, but soon she stretched so that she was within a few inches of him.  She was rubbing on a towel near him.

She then did turn her head around and hiss at him.  But he wasn’t bothered.

Grant isn’t as interested about Anna, but he does often roll around on the floor near me when he wants to be charming.  It started for food, but has spread to just being friendly.  He does rush off if I grab for him, but if he is up on a shelf or high place I usually can pet him without stress.

Still a cute one.

  2. Those boys really are charmers! I bet they, or at least Sherman, will charm Anna into actually liking another cat soon! Hopefully? 🙂

How would Anna react to a cloth (placed near her) which had been rubbed on one of the boy’s cheeks? If it is true that the cheek area on a cat contains his scent, maybe she could get used to the scent without putting the scent owner at risk of Queen Anna’s hisses.

I have let her actually sniff the tail of several cats, even Rhea. Oddly, she will sniff two or three times before hissing, or in Rhea’s case swatting at the tail.

I don’t do this little test often because it isn’t fair to the other cat

I haven’t quite done that, but I have brought Anna out into other rooms from time to time either with doors shut or in an enclosure. I think she knows the other cats enough and they have been in her room from time to time when she was absent.
