Davout did fine at the vets, losing a tooth on the way. I don’t think it was his snaggle tooth, if you are worried. He was a bit scared on the way out, so I opened up the carrier lid and stroked him on the ride home which made him feel somewhat better.
He was a bit out of sorts at home at first, startling Grant in particular by hissing at him when he did his annoying rubs into the big cat’s personal space as he does. It kind of hurt Grant’s feelings, and made him puff up partly in response on the back and especially the tail, which was seriously cute.
After Grant had been spooked away, Sherman the peacemaker did his magic again. He soon was making his move to approach Davout without making him mad, moving forward slowly with his head down unaggressively, but coming on until he was within a few inches of Davout without triggering him. When he was satisfied that peace was at hand, he went off satisfied.
Grant still is a bit wary of coming too close by accident.
Sorry there’s no pictures of D today. He looks normal aside from a shaved arm, and the one chance I had to get him without a stressful chase I just gave him some lovin’ rather than try to get pictures.
Glad Marshal D got through his dental all right.
Sherman taking on the role of peacemaker is such a wonderful trait.

I haven’t seen a cat like that before. Some enforce good acts, some punish bad acts, some ignore both, but he seeks the unhappy and quietly uses his calming rays on them.

I hope he’s feeling better now! No one loves dental work.

glad everything went okay. Losing a tooth is no fun, but they bounce back from those pretty quickly
