I let the cats out back Saturday. It was pretty warm and muggy, and Sherman was zooming around until I noticed him panting heavily.
Even when he stopped panting he was breathing quickly. Might have just been excitement, but I brought everyone inside into the cooler and less humid air. He was better quickly and has seemed normal since then.
Davout didn’t have an issue but he wasn’t rushing about either.
It has been a while since any of the cats have been out during the day, since I’ve kept them in since the kittens were little.
I may need to give them more practice when it is cooler.
I’m sure it was just his inexperience and the novelty and excitement of being in the yard. Even people underestimate the effects of that hot muggy weather.
