This is the 1000th post on the blog. I’m coming up blank on anything more to say about that.
It was very cold out there tonight – down in the 40s. I tried to convince him to stay inside but he was too insistent. He did stay out the normal amount of time so that fur coat comes in handy.
Julie is getting more attached to this scratcher. I was hoping he would. He is pretty picky about the material – I’ve never seen him use a carpet to scratch on, and the naked wood posts are of no use to him either. This woven sisal cover works for him, and it is tall enough that he can stretch as far as he can.
In between naps I can turn around and see Gus keeping an eye on me.
Julius shows his mane. And squints his eyes closed when he hears the camera start to work…

I need a scratcher tall enough for Leo to stretch out.. but that’s a TALL order, lol, he’s super long!

It is cold, and supposed to get colder tonight. Ironically, the local ag extension was warning people living in the rural areas to bring their livestock indoors and to make sure dogs weren’t left in outdoor kennels without some kind of shelter. Gus must have a lot of gumption to want to take his nightly stroll in this weather!
Congratulations on your 1,000th post. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog every night (sometimes mornings), even when life was sad for your Yard. Hope to read many more!
