It is easy to entice Rhea out for pictures, almost any excuse will do. I can even just wiggle the camera strap.
Davout is harder. He’s been spending more time out in the garage hanging out and tends to watch what is going on from a corner while Rhea takes over.

And this.
Finally I had to dangle the toy from the topmost shelf and hold Rhea in my lap while Davout climbed up to take a swat at the toy.
You can see his rather raggedy belly trim he got at the last vet visit. He was pretty loud and difficult for them as it is his first cut. It is starting to grow back in some now.
Once he is up, he’s braver and I can lead him around. Right after he grabbed this on the top shelf he decided to take the entire toy right down to the ground to a safe spot.
Is he a lot bigger than here or is it mostly fluff.

He is somewhat larger than her, 9.5 pounds to 8, he’s about 4 months older, and of a more stocky build. But he also has more fluff than her anid it also sticks out more than hers, which tends to lie more flat along her body. He is a lot more of a traditional Persian body shape, while Rhea is more like a regular cat aside from her face.

I think that first trim is the worst for Persians or other long-haired cats. At least that was the case for my boys. The first trim involved lots of mats, especially behind the ears and in the armpits, but their hair is more manageable now.
